Late Friday night I received a text message from a friend. Would I please make a call to someone whose Grandmother’s caregiver had just quit and she didn’t know where to turn.
For those of us who have been in long term care for years, this is a pretty regular occurrence. I’m always happy to help. It’s what I do. I understand that it’s confusing for people. There are many choices in the long term care continuum and everyone wants more than the list of acronyms.
This call for help happened to people in our company with regularity so we created Laureate Cares… a free service from our company who has been helping older adults and their families for more than 40 years.
If you or someone you know, calls (262) 832-7113, you'll speak with an experienced member of the Laureate Cares team, someone who can help you sort through the issues, identify options and figure out the steps necessary to make a good decision for an older adult and their family. Those who answer the phone have at least 20 years of experience in senior services and works with seniors every single day. You’ll talk to someone who knows the system, understands the challenges and can help you set a course. Whether you're at the beginning of your search, in the midst of collecting information or feeling overwhelmed by all you've found, we can help. And, we are happy to do it.
